First Choice Social Care & Housing Ltd provide individual care for our customers who need a little extra support from help with the shopping to getting in and out of the bath, household chores or support with basic daily living. We care for young and old alike and our ethos is to promote independence and self sufficiency regardless of age, ethnicity or personal circumstances.

Care services at home usually aren’t considered unless, suddenly, there is a need. These kind of care either through illness, accident or changes to an individual’s support network. And most of us think that the stark choice is either living self-sufficiently (without help) in our own familiar surroundings or then ‘going into a home’, residential centre or living with family or loved ones.

Many care providing agencies offer a one size fits all approach to care provision regardless of ethnicity, cultural requirements or religious belief needs. First Choice Social Care & Housing ltd, place these requirements at the centre to all care plan development we offer to our customers. Providing culturally bespoke services, unique to the care industry and care provision across South London.

Each individual care plan is tailored to the individual, and include:

Domestic cleaning, ironing, on an adhoc or scheduled basis.
Personal Cleaning, help to get in the bath/ shower/ to wash.
Help with cooking, meal and drinks preparation.
Shopping, either supporting our customers to go our shopping themselves or go shopping on their behalf.
Support with medication, prompting and reminding when it is due.
Night time support, both sleeping and awake services available.

This list is not exhaustive; the service is completely dependent on the customer’s needs and wishes. It is the happiness and well being of our customers that is central to our activities at all times.

We place live-in companions and daily or longer-term care workers. We operate a rota system with the care workers working for a period of one or two weeks or a month and then changing over in a planned way to another care worker. This is so that people can have help from a team of staff they know and who understand their care needs. Choosing how to handle your care or the care of a loved one is a difficult decision; you want to do what’s best, but we do live in the real world and therefore cost will be a factor.
